BIOGRAPHY OF CATHERINE ACCARDI

Catherine Accardi
It was a mysterious and foggy night the day of my birth in San Francisco. No, this is not the introduction to another fabulous mystery novel, it is the first line of my biography.
Yes, indeed, I am a native San Franciscan, born and raised. With a homestead in Walnut Creek and San Francisco, access to my city by the bay is a delightful adventure. After all, I really did leave my heart in San Francisco. But, enough snappy patter.
I am happy to report, I am at a point in my life where I have found my true passion – writing. My focus is mysteries and history. My keen interest in history has been a life-long passion, inspired by my childhood in San Francisco.
A graduate of San Francisco State University in City Planning, and a separate degree in Photography, I am considering a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing. With this background in both city planning and writing, I was delighted to have the opportunity to author my first published book, Images of America~Walnut Creek. Yes, I have had numerous articles published, but my first completed book was quite a thrill. In addition, book number two, Images of America~San Francisco‘s North Beach and Telegraph Hill, will be released in the fall of 2010. Arcadia Publishing published both books.
As a volunteer and board member for the California Writers Club, I am the Editor of The Write News, the Club’s Mount Diablo Branch monthly newsletter. I am also a contributing writer for several San Francisco historical societies and community organizations, including the Telegraph Hill Dweller’s newsletter, The Semaphore.
Say tuned because there are more of my writings to come!
